Medlin Treatment is an outpatient counseling center in metro Atlanta that was founded by Dr. Julie Medlin in 1997. Over the past 29 years, we have grown to be a trusted and respected authority in the mental health services space. We offer a wide range of psychological services for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to general psychological services, we offer specialized services for individuals who have experienced sexual abuse and/or struggle with sexual behavior problems.

Forensic Psychological Evaluation
A specialized assessment by a psychologist for the legal system focusing on a specific legal question. Involves interviewing, psychological testing, and review of relevant records. Offered for children, adolescents, and adults in criminal and civil cases involving sexual abuse, competency to stand trial, mental state at time of crime, and parental fitness.
Psychosexual Evaluation
A specialized, in-depth psychological assessment used in legal cases to understand an individual's sexual history, sexual interests, and potential risk for problematic or illegal sexual behavior. Involves detailed interviewing, standardized psychological testing, psychosexual testing, record review, and risk assessment measures.
Expert Testimony
Forensic psychologists serve as objective educators for the court, rendering expert opinions shared in written reports and oral testimony in deposition or in the courtroom, translating diagnostic data and behavioral science into accessible language.
Forensic Consultation
Consultation related to legal matters such as record reviews and training programs and presentations for organizations such as law enforcement units, correctional facilities, and attorneys' offices.
ADHD Evaluations
Comprehensive psychological evaluation to assess for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Sexual Abuse, Trauma, or PTSD Evaluations
Psychological evaluation addressing sexual abuse, trauma, or PTSD concerns without court involvement.
Emotional Concerns Evaluations
Psychological evaluation for emotional concerns such as anxiety or depression.
Autism Spectrum Disorder Evaluations
Psychological evaluation for Autism Spectrum Disorder, offered for adults only.
Individual Trauma Therapy
Tailored individual therapy using evidence-based techniques including TF-CBT, CPT, EMDR, Prolonged Exposure, Narrative Exposure, DBT, and Integration Sessions for Ketamine Protocols for PTSD and Depression (in-person Chicago only).
Group Therapy for Sexual Trauma Survivors
Virtual group therapy for 18 to 22-year-old female-identifying survivors of sexual trauma who reside in Georgia, Texas, Colorado, or Florida.
Individual Therapy
One-on-one therapy where a mental health professional works privately with a client to explore personal challenges, improve self-awareness, develop coping skills, and foster growth using techniques like CBT or psychodynamic approaches.
Family Therapy
Talk therapy focusing on improving relationships and interactions within a family unit, helping members communicate better, resolve conflicts, and navigate major life changes or mental health challenges.
